HailUte takes 16.5% of the fare, ex-GST — one flat rate, nothing else. Tips are commission-free. Every fare covers the load — nothing extra to negotiate at the kerb. The rider always rides along — it's their gear, they load it, and you can lend a hand if it needs one. Securing it is yours, like any load on your ute: straps, tarp, tie-downs. A two-person lift is a job; anything that needs a crew or a pallet jack isn't — decline it, and we'll point the rider to a removalist.

WHAT YOU NEED

Your own ABN, GST registration, and to be the registered owner of the ute — standard for driving under HailUte. Queensland drivers also need Driver Authorisation (TMR) and a Booked Hire Service Licence for the vehicle; we email you the links the moment you register.

SAFETY

Every driver is checked and every ute is licensed before the first ride. Every trip is booked, tracked and paid through HailUte, so there's a record of who rode with whom, and cover if something goes wrong. Not comfortable with a job? Decline it — no questions asked.

On GSTRide-sourcing counts as taxi travel, so you register for GST from your first trip — the $75,000 threshold doesn't apply. You remit 1/11th of the total fare and claim the GST back on our commission. We issue your tax invoices and a quarterly summary so your BAS is a ten-minute job, not a weekend. Worth a word with your accountant before you start.

Choosing a ute? Ones with lower running costs — like plug-in hybrids — generally keep more of what you earn. Worth factoring in, not a promise of what you'll make.
